Pre-season so far has been good and we are looking forward to our first preseason game against Ashton Town. This will be a good and difficult test as Kev Towey’s an experienced manager that has experience of winning promotion and will have used the preseason to recruit a strong squad to kick on in what will be his first full season at Ashton.

We have had two good weeks of preseason with players that we wanted to bring in and the game tomorrow will be our first chance to assess them in a game. There’s still a long way to go and more fixtures before the season starts but it’s looking good with a mixture of experience and promising players.

In addition to our recruitment, a lot of people were getting in touch about wanting to come down. The open trial we held last weekend was extremely popular with over 80 applying. Some of these players have a good background behind them and it helped to try to ensure players don’t slip through the net.

I hope so to see and meet many of you down at our preseason games over the next few weeks. I really want all past, current and potential Skem fans to feel part of what we are doing and building. Playing against local opposition will hopefully allow a bigger turn out of support and talk to us about what we are building.

Cheers, Potter
